Template to dump Special Pioneers

"downsizing" has reached special pioneers.. this is the template mexico is using to get rid of many of its special pioneers.

see how cold and unloving is the language they use.

That's cold even for the WTS. You would think they would have given them at least 6 months notice. And they have to reapply as a regular pioneer? WTF. They just love to humiliate JWs.

I feel bad for them but hopefully some will wake up.

Are Circuit Overseers next?

last year saw the elimination of the district overseer...and circuit overseers now must retire at 70. how long until the circuit overseer is no more?

of course, the role might still exist, they would simply not get paid.

they would have to care for their own expenses.

I believe that's the next change is to drop the CO or at least restructure. You could have a Circuit Body of Elders made up of say 10-12 elders in the circuit. That body could organize the CAs, choose speakers, send a rep out to each congo twice a year for a midweek/Sunday meeting, deliver the WTS outline and meeting with the local elders and FS on Sat. That Circuit BOE would report directly to the Branch just like the COs do now. They would sign off on any appointments/deletions in a fashion similar to what the CO does now. Plus, ZERO expenses because they aren't in full time service so require no WTS or circuit support.

This would be a super easy thing to implement and I'm convinced the elimination of the DO was step 1. You could even have the outline for the servant meeting delivered via video if they wanted to.

(they were told it has to do with branches closing down, missionaries being sent home, etc).

i said it's probably money.

Any thoughts on the real reasons for droppng the 'school"

my thoughts are.

1. they want to avoid being made to comply with any laws that come with anything classed as a "school" especially a school with children enrolled.. 2. the mid-week meeting has been dying in the ass for years and needs a revival.

i predict happy -clappy-sing-a-longs to be included in the program.. anyone else have any thoughts ??

Agree with Sir82. Despite the text messages and phone calls, not many weeks go by without the need of a substitute. This way, there is no second school and they can give the demos to individuals that are likely to be at the meetings. Instead of 4 weeks with 6 speakers (24 assignments)(not counting the bible highlights and assuming most folks have 2 schools), you can have 3 weeks with 3 speakers (9 assignments). Plus, you can have sisters handle more of the demos which covers up the male shortage.

first off, i'd like to state that i currently have "privileges" in the congregation and volunteer at bethel on and off throughout the year.

that's as much information as i will currently give about myself.. starting off, i think something big is coming in the form of lawsuits and bad pr.

they seem to be batting down the hatches in preparation for something the last few years and even more so the last few months.

tds - interesting points. Part of me thinks that they couldn't possibly have been savvy enough to put that plan into effect. However, some of the money saving moves appear to almost look like recommendations from an actual business consultant.

It's truly bizarre that they would pull those photos. This keeps getting crazier and crazier. Obviously the individual(s) that leaked the letter are with us so I'm confident that the real reasons behind all this will be made public soon.

I'm certain the change in the way KHs are financed is directly related. Perhaps they didn't get as much money as they had hoped although the loot from Britain seemed pretty good. The problem for them is that's a one-time bump in revenues. I know locally, the first few months the donations were in line with the pledge but the last several months it's been short by at least $1,000. Multiply this across the US (where the largest number of wealthy JWs live) and you've got a serious cashflow problem. Really interesting developments.

i just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.

she is on morphine and hanging on.

she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.
